Description

The Gateway Shopping centre food court is polarising with enormous overhead structures that draw your eye up towards the roofline above plus there is plenty of seating options with tables and chairs mixed and matched along with planter boxes and banquette seating – so how does a shop front fit in with this façade yet stand out from the noise – they hire Asset Construction to fill that brief.

Saigon Street is a Vietnamese food outlet with an ambient touch that is timeless and welcoming to customers. Overhead is feature dropped pendant lighting in striking black finishes that contrasts to the earthy tones of the timber panels backing wall that towers almost 2 storeys high.

Along the front of the store is a bay marine to house the precooked food for an easy grab and go dining experience for customers on the run. Finished with authentic looking Vietnamese panels trimmed with timber, this is an elegant touch. Along the back wall are mounted fridges and a serving area with window through to the kitchen for custom meals and hot soups straight from the pan.

A pop of WOW along the customer waiting area is a hard wearing tile which is easy clean and won’t scuff with the endless crowds that mill around whilst waiting for their meals and the pop of green defines the space and makes for an eye catching contrast to the wood art work on the back wall that defines this shop. Reproduced into the timber fronted doors, the same splash of green gives the area continuity plus within the cupboards is plenty of storage and the stone counters are hard wearing and heat resistant making it a practical space.

To stand out from the noise of the busy Gateway Shops the Saigon Street brand replicates the infamous colourful flags from the Saigon Markets into an interesting panelled feature overhead to from the menu and branding above the shop.
