LOCATION: Sattler Cres, Bees Creek NT
COMPLETION DATE: March 2020
Functional, simple, hard wearing – that is the design brief for a kids bathroom amenity in the tranquil rural setting of Bees Creek. The existing block was dated and worn out so the team at Asset was tasked with the demolition of the existing structural walls, plumbing fixtures, toilet partitions and tiles. Working within a school setting the team had to be mindful of the nearby classrooms for noise and rubble along with holding Ochre cards to comply with NT School regulations.
The team designed, demo and started works with a new layout to better meet the needs of the schools with new structural walls and structural roofing being the main unseen but integral part of this build.
After the heavy lifting was completed it was time for plumbing with new basins and vanity’s at child friendly heights along with wall mounted sanitary hand washes, new toilet partition doors, floor coverings, doors and hardware and a fresh coat of paint as well.
To round off this makeover the team added some external cladding in a decorative finish to enhance the outside of the building and have it blend nicely with the existing buildings and rural setting. On the external face of the building is a lockable laundry room for cleaning and a functional access for disabled access as well.
On time – on budget using local trades and supporting our local industry. Did you know that during a build like this, we employ plumbers, carpenters and purchase materials that all goes back into supporting your local tradies and businesses. When you shop local, you support local families.
